There upon a lonely hill, just outside the wall
Was a place the Romans loved: that meant death to all.
On that fateful early morn many years ago
Three men made that lonely walk; moving very slow.
CHORUS
Three crosses on Calvary
On that fateful day.
Three crosses on Calvary
Listen to what they say.
On the first cross was a man who reviled the day
Rebellion still on his lips with the words he’d say.
Vent his bitter hatred on Him there in between
Only words that he could say really were obscene.
CHORUS
There upon the other side was a man who’d changed.
He recognised that his life must be rearranged.
Repentance had entered in to his dying heart:
Asked the one who was between, for a brand new start.
CHORUS
There upon that centre cross was the one we need
Dying there upon the cross for our ev’ry deed.
With His death redemption came; now we could be free.
Jesus was upon that cross just for you and me.
CHORUS
Each of us now has a choice that we all must make.
We can rebel against God, choose that path to take
Or we can accept the choice that redemption gives
And repent before our God and be where He lives
CHORUS
